SSC GD Constable Eligibility Criteria 2024

The eligibility criteria for the SSC GD Constable exam include several factors such as nationality, educational qualifications, age limit, and other requirements essential for applying to the SSC General Duty Constable posts.   • A Tibetan refugee who came over to India before January 1, 1962, with the intention of permanently settling in India, or
  • A person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania (formerly Tanganyika and Zanzibar), Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia, and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India.

Age Limit

Candidates must be at least 18 years of age to apply. The maximum age limit is generally 23 years. However, there are specific age relaxations for different categories, as detailed in the SSC GD Age Limit section

However, considering the Covid-19 pandemic, a relaxation of three years in the upper age limit has been provided for all categories of candidates. Therefore, candidates should not have been born earlier than January 2, 1997, to avail of this relaxation.
